Early season hopes of a high final league position wer to be exaggerated somewhat. A failure to convert goal scoring opportunities cost us greatly. Our goals43 in 22 games was a little embarrassing and showed that we have a major problem in that area. We were 4th lowest scorers in our league.
We did not had any problems in creating chances, Jason Turner, Ricky Croft & Mick Hamer are 3 midfielders all capable of creating chances, but no-one has had the composure or ability to put them in.
On the other hand we had a respectable goals against record of 47. Only a few lapses in concentration let us down. In quite a few games it was the back four who kept us in it.
